Alighiero Boetti – Works 1977-1991

“The metaphysics of common things”- so the headline of the newspaper cut reads in Alighiero Boetti’s imaginary dialogue with his predecessor Giorgio Morandi in Omaggio a Morandi (1991). This also aptly describes the all-encompassing scope and diversity of Boetti’s artistic work. With further two important Aerei, a magazine cover work Anno 1986, an enigmatic I sei sensi biro work and a ludic Totem, our exhibition pays tribute to the Italian conceptual master’s enchanting playfulness, but also to his powerful philosophical and geopolitical intuitions.
